We put these barn doors on our master bathroom. They look great perform well but I would warn everyone that they may want to put soft close kits on these if you have solid wood doors. We did purchase a kit online which was an additional charge for the soft close kit. It was from another manufacturer which was a universal kit that bolted on the rail. It makes the doors much more smoother and quieter and opening and closing and they don’t bang around so if you need to get up and use a restroom you don’t wake up your spouse. Also it’s just nice not to hear door slamming open and close as barn doors tend to do when operating.I would definitely not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone.Due to our unique installation requirements, we needed additional flat spacers. There is no part # referenced in the instruction manual. However, i merely e-mailed photos to customer service (
[email protected]) and was able to get the extra parts I needed. I only paid $5 for shipping/ handling and the small parts were provided at no charge. Additionally, I requested only 2, but was provided 8! They were very prompt in responding to my request, as well.Of coarse I had to customize it, but that’s what I was expecting. Overall a good product. I would use againI was worried it would not hold up, its solid steel and easy to hang. This company is trustworthyThis barn door kit is relatively easy to install. The only dislike I have is that it is too smooth, if that is even a real complaint. What I mean is that can allow the door to wander more than I would like. I would prefer a texturized surface to create more tension and hold the door in place better. Otherwise, they are great.Great for that heavy duty look. My issue is with the directions, I almost ruined my barn doors on step one! I dont have the directions in front of me, but they say something along the lines of "measure down from the top of the door 1 3/4" and 3 3/4" and drill two holes with a 1/2" drill bit. Well I measurered and marked both holes with a pencil. Drilled the first hole (at 1 3/4") and was about to drill the second hole when I realized it didnt look right. So put the hanger up to check and sure enough the marks were off. It should actually be the second hole is 3 3/4" down from the first hole, but the directions say from the top of the door! If I hadnt stop to double check and just drillled the holes based on the instructions, I would have ruined two barn doors! That aside, love this product. And if you are concering that the holes in the track are so bigger than the junction plate, please don't worry, it is used to adjust the position of the connecting parts. Maybe you could have a try, will it work for you?Very Dissatisfied with NO REPONSE to my two email requests asking for a longer rail. The rail they say fits for the door size is too small in that it doesn't allow the door to fully open. I sent 2 email requests asking for another rail of a foot bigger, and that I could send back the existing rail for the exchange and the Seller has not bothered address the issue. It appears that the rail can have a larger piece added or perhaps a piece of rail was not supplied because of the size. No matter: it's just too short for the advertised door size. Jeeze, I'd even buy the larger rail. As for the product itself, it is of excellent quality. Just don't expect any customer service. Oh, and the screws as mentioned previously needed extra washers to allow to tighten.Excellent quality hardware kit. Installation instructions are pretty decent for anyone that is a little bit handy. The single 1 piece track makes this very stable and easy to install.The only complaint I have, is the bolts used to mount the hangers to the door, are too long for a 1 3/8” door, which the specifications say the kit will work for. Yes, it does, but, you will have to cut the length of the bolts shorter for this to work. Cutting bolts and preserving the threads may be tricky for some people without the proper tools. Fortunately, I have everything I needed.They could supply some shorter bolts, or maybe some spacers for the back side, which might make it work without cutting the bolts. however, a person would have to check for interference on any trim around the door opening. Perhaps the spacer could go on the front side without looking horrible as well.*note, the door handle in this picture, is not included in the kit, this was a separate purchase.A really excellent quality product that looks terrific, and it’s easy to install.
